From what I read on another forum, I think it was Leica users forum, the new firmware allows auto ISO, the use of sdhc cards, a faster download speed, a higher capacity buffer, and some early adopters are reporting better looking high ISO pics and a cleaner jpg. There are some other rumored improvements but they have yet to be confirmed. Bob.
I'll be happy to wait for others to try it out first 🙂 especially if reverting back to the previous firmware is a big no go...

it's pretty much exactly what it says...it adds compatibility for sdhc and auto ISO...nothing else I can determine...
But it does get rid of all your custom profiles.
Do you notice any changes in noise reduction at the highest ISOs?
ok...ISO performance is definitely improved as is AWB....this is 2500 ISO on AWB with a wild mix of sun, tungsten and fluorescent light shot in jpeg mode with no noise reduction done.
not the greatest image, but it was as tricky a lighting condition i could find while unpacking from my move.
edit....this sucks...i need a new workflow getup now...i may actually shoot jpegs.
tmfabian, you wouldn't happen to have a similar picture pre-upgrade? That's a nice high ISO image. It looks like the only thing missing in this update is a harder LCD and a quieter shutter thunk/wiz. Bob.
