New M8 shooter

I thought I'd post some of my first set of images from my, new to me, M8....

Go easy please but constructive criticism and advice is always welcome. Shot with CV 28/1.9 and CV 50/1.5, I've not quite got perfect focus on some occasions so help with this would be useful.

These are pretty much out of the camera jpegs so I understand there is more to come in IQ terms but I'm more interested in CC of composition and focusing.

Get away from in-camera jpegs! You are running in the one-legged race that way.

Just time constraints at the moment jaap, I shot RAW + jpeg so have the digital negs to work on at a later time....

I once timed it: the average time loss by shooting RAW vs JPG is 12 seconds per shot....

I am surprised that more detail couldn't be pulled out of that tree on the third pic though.

fwellers - thats a job for the bank holiday weekend (knowing the UK weather and bank holidays I'll get plenty of time to mess with raw files, inbetween dog walks and keeping the kids entertained)....

I assume he means the buffer delay time, sounds right, but I think the OP meant time in processing later.

Pretty good shots, in #3 the focus is a tad off but still a nice image, and I agree, the trunk of that tree could reveal a lot more detail - probably with RAW processing...🙄

Yep I did mean processing time....

Never really tried raw processing in a serious way so am still deciding between Capture One and Lightroom 2, then I need to buy an external hard drive as I assume I need to save them as TIFFs to print any (or do I leave them as processed raw until I print any?)
