Although we had a meet-up May 1st we are having a second meet-up because of a few guests coming to NYC.

We will gather at Puck Fair at noon on Sunday May 22d to fuel up to go on a shoot-out after we eat, if the weather cooperates.

This kinda happened spontainiously. Also check out the other thread for more details. It started with Mister E and then it kinda gained momentium.

Well the weather prediction is improving. Looks like the showers end Saturday with only a 30% chance of a passing/isolated thunder storm with an expected high of 75. Mostly clouded is expected.

Seems lately life has been a constant improve. Reminds me of when I was a performance artist doing theater.

Cristian,

We meet-up at Puck Fair at high noon. We'll eat and drink because when we cross the "Bridge To Nowhere" John will tell you there is no food or water.

We'll be exploring the skankier parts of the city where there are no tourists or many people if that matters. We'll be exploring the "Gone-O- Rea infested waters" of Newtown Creek that devides Brooklyn from Queens that extends 4 miles inland.

BTW Bridge To Nowhere and Gone-O-Rea infested waters are quoted from Andre who also has this motto, "The uglier the better." LOL.

Cal, I would ask if it is safe, but after the rapture (this Saturday) nowhere will be safe. So perhaps by comparison it can't be so bad.

I should be able to come to Puck fair for my monthly gear+Puck Burger overdose. Not sure about the shootout in the postindustrial wasteland. I think I have enough of that where i live now.

The area is certainly safe... but what we choose to do may have us all burn in hell!

Call me a Drama Queen, but I sometimes exaggerate a lot for dramatic effect because I'm a writer. Good lawyers often do the same: exaggerate truth.

This is also coming from a guy who got a free H16 Bolex movie camera by flirting with a girl. Although sometimes stuff just happens to me, generally I do my risk taking alone, but I've gone night shooting in this area, but that's kinda dumb.

DISCLAIMER: GOING SHOOTING WITH ME IS AT YOUR OWN RISK.

LOL.

I think I should be able to make it... Not sure about the after party shootout, I'll decide then, although, I have this freshly aquired Xpan.. hmmm..

You can smell the oil in places.

DISCLAIMER: NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR SETTING YOURSELF ON FIRE IF YOU TRY TO SMOKE BY NEWTOWN CREEK.

I also wouldn't walk near me because after the disrespectful subway shot I took at 68th and Lex because I expect that I might get struck down by lightning, even though the long term weather forecast suggests that there is zero chance of rain Sunday. Hopefully I make it through Saturday when there are expected thunderstorms.

I took a really great street shot of this man holding a sign proclaiming the end of the world. I was shooting my pimped out Leica with Fuji Arcos rated at 100 with my 35/1.8 wide open at 1/15 second. In the background is the subway sign for the downtown 6 train.

BTW Newtown Creek at night is what I expect hell to look like.

Fidel,

You lucky dog. This is a great place for panoramas. You literally can get into one shot where 1/3 of NYC's sewage is processed and where 1/3 of NYC's garbage is processed in one shot with maybe a couple of oil refineries thrown in.

Hmmm, seems to be a Saturday meet-up happening too?

John,

I learned that I only have dinner plans Saturday, otherwise I'm free. Also the weather for Saturday is improving. Would be interesting to shoot the end of the world in Madhattan Saturday.

Could you create a link for the address and directions to Puck Fair for our guests on this thread and the other thread. Thanks in advance. Also call me tonight, because as you know I'm a slacker who will be offline after 2:30 PM when I abandone work.

I confirm Cal's assessment. ("Bridge to Nowhere - no food or water.")

Unfortunately, I'm out of town this weekend and won't be able to make the meetup.

I did receive my Zeiss Ikon and look forward to shooting with it.
