Hi, I am Natalia's (LilRedSpy) husband. I've been hearing a lot about this forum and decided to check it out. Great place to learn and share. As a rangefinder newbie (that GSN is really nice) I'll be learning more that contributing.

Welcome to the club Bill! SO what are you going to get for your RF equipment? :p

Good to have you here, Bill.

One good thing of a husband and wife enjoying the same hobby is that they can share eachother's lenses and cameras.
A downside is that GAS is highly contageous.

Lil, he'll start with your GSN, then your Bessa, then your Leica, and then he'll want his own GSN/ Bessa/ Leica, not to mention the Canon P/ any Russian RF/ etc. :)

Welcome Bill.
I've gotten my wife started with a small digi-cam (no RF). That way she feels shes not "wasting film" and she is improving.
But, if she makes a move for the RFs, well, troubles on its way.
~ ; - )
Of course, I did get her a Ruger MkII also. Start 'em off small - LOL.

Welcome Bill,

I saw the pictures of the Yashica GSN and can tell you that Natalie got it WAY BELOW its actual value. Greyhoundman is a true gentleman and sold it to a Lady in distress, after the Olympus disaster.

Its actual value is much closer to a Leica CL with a 35mm Summicron. That would be an elegant compact little "black number" that ANY husband would be proud to get for his wife.

Welcome Bill ! You know you need to get that SPn (sweet cam!) and post here the DOUBLE SPn/GSN cam + coffee shot ! :)

Welcome Bill ! .... Natalia is right you know, she will need a Leica M or Bessa so you can spend time becoming proficient with the GSN :D

howdy Bill!

you could always just pick up another GSN.. there is a plethora of them on that big auction site.. but don't outbid me, ok? I'm hoping to pick one up this week

Better yet, pick a Canonet!

Welcome Bill! Good to see a husband-and-wife teaming up in photography, forums and even GAS.

You won't? Really? Wanna bet?

Welcome, Bill. I guess if you two are gonna be each others enablers, this isn't such a bad way to do it!
You definitle need another camera. The viewfinders on all of mine are tough enough to get just one eye behind much less two :) !

Well, I have a GTN, even more desirable apparently.
So if anyone wants to swap it for a Leica CL with 35mm Summicron, you know where to find me... I'll even throw in a case and lens hood and battery!
:p

Welcome Bill.

You are one smart cookie! How did you ever con(vince) your wife to get into cameras and then RFF so you could let her convince you to join?

Boy! Wish I could do that.

Gosh, Bill will be surprised to see all the replies when he gets home for lunch:)

By the way, what's GAS?
