Hi after doing that m7 v/s HRF poll i was convinced to get one despite the leica brand name!

Got a superb sample but just like others it was heavily missaligned, after getting a little documented on the issue i re-aligned it succesfully (very simple and easy task)

I´m very happy with this camera, is very compact fast and easy to use, i loved my g2 but this one corrects for good the focusing issue!

Here are some shots in my first day with it, zeiss biogon 35/2 and Tri-x.

Glad to know your opinions!

Bye

That´ll do?

That´ll do?

Hi,

Although i didn´t have any imput at all, i´ll stick another shot with my HRF perhaps someone catches!
This time with an industar 50 @ f5.6, this lens can be completely collapsed into the HRF body making it very stealthy!

Bye!

I had one for about 7 months a couple of years ago; it came in a full set along with the 50 Hexanon and flash. I had to sell it back in the days when I was out of work, on my birthday of all days.🙁 Its kind of funny, because to this day I can go to a certain website belonging to the person I sold it to, and see a picture of it whenever I want. Also slightly depressing, in that everytime I see that picture, I realize I don't own it anymore.:bang:

I really enjoyed using it, I used to use it along side an M3 so I could have a viewfinder for wides, and one for longer lenses, like the 90 Summicron I used to own as well. I do plan on picking up another one in the future, as I found the AE setting, as well as motor wind, quite useful when I have had a few at the bar😀

Shots below, with the Hexar and 50 F2 Hexanon on the right, Canon 35 on the left; probably Fp4 in the frst shot, Rollei Pan 25 in the second.

It's good to hear from someone else who likes their Hexar RF. It's possibly my favourite camera, though my HRFs aren't getting enough use lately (away from home through work and so away from my developing/scanning/printing setup). I did put a roll of colour neg through one yesterday, just for fun.

I'm sure you'll get years of great service from yours.

Yeah I just picked one up recently too and I think so far I prefer it to my Minolta CLE. Compared to the CLE, I do miss being able to easily use my 40mm Summicron, but the longer baselength, metered manual and AEL on the RF more than make up for it. In fact, I'll give it another month or so, but I am starting to think I might swap the CLE for a second Hexar if a nice one comes up.

Also, the build quality on the RF is lovely - I am sure any of the M series Leicas are just as nice or nicer in this respect, but to get one with similar features to the RF you are usually looking at 3 times the cost of the Hexar in the UK.

I'm currently on my 2nd Hexar, first body got stolen in China....... :bang:

Love the camera to bits, might be made in 1999? But still modern in today's context.

The x0.6 mag for the VF fits me nicely as I wear specs. I actually have trouble seeing the 35mm framelines on the Leicas because of x0.72 mag.... Unless I fork out loads of $$$ to get a x0.58 mag VF.

Here are some shots with my Hexar:

Shot this before the camera got stolen in China:

oh yea, I forgot to mention. Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe the Hexar RF is the only 35mm film based RF to have a shutter speed of 1/4000 which is really really sweet.

Leicas are at 1/1000 except the Digital RFs from them & Zeiss & Bessa are at 1/2000

1/4000 shutter speeds have been really useful for me as I do not really have to stick a ND filter up to stop down.

I have been travelling alot last month & the hexar was the only camera I shot with & 90% of the time, my cv nokton 35mm F1.4 is stuck to the body, great combination for all round shooting in day & night conditions.

Great!

Great!

Nice pics RWC!
Sea front in Brighton? Wow unbelievable!

I think you´re right about the HRF being the only with 4000! But not for sure, at least and not RF the G2 has up to 6000.
It´s great to have such speed and so usefull!

Shambla, i think just like you, i forgot about the CLE when got this one, ok, it´s heavier and slightly larger but i can collapse the elmar! and then i has no competiton at all!

Thanks! Stayed there for a month in Spring, weather wasn't entirely spring though..... 😡

G2 goes to 1/6000? Awesome!!! The fast shutters do come in really useful, does away with the need for a ND filter! I'm not a big fan of the AF RF though, takes away the fun of using a RF
