New owner of 35RC

I bought a new (unused, in original box) Olympus shade from Luton Camera Repairs on eBay, they sell them for £9.99 (roughly 400 squillion dollars at current exchange rates, or maybe $20ish). They're quite good and have a little notch for the flashmatic lever which allows you to reverse the hood over the lens if you need to store it in a case (I managed to get an original soft velvet style case when I got my RC), which is handy.

All in all, it's a great little camera, I take it with me everywhere. The metering is great, the lens is sharp, the viewfinder is a damn sight better than my FED-4 and it's tiny. I think I'm in love.

Hundreds of pieces, well actually only a few, but a cracked lens....

Still lookinf for a replacement...

I just managed to find one. the leatherette is peeling and the foam is goo, but I can fix all that, and it's a great excuse to get some new leather from cameraleather.com. I can't wait to give this a go, it's everything I was looking for in a daily carry camera. I had resorted to carrying a Coolpix P5000, which is the right size, but the auto focus is waaay to slow.

I just got back some film/scans (Kodak 400BW) shot in the RC. I rated the film @ 320 and the exposures look good for the most part, except for those that are under because of low light and lack of slower speeds.

The second one was a difficult test ... shooting directly into the sun though the sun was behind the leftmost sail of the sculpture ... I just wanted to see how the camera would handle it. A lot of veiling, but not unpleasant.
