Just saw a promo for it.
More here.

Wonder if it will be any good? I'll be tuning in to find out I guess. The host is Andrew (G)unsberg of Australian Idol fame (who is photographed next to what looks like a Crown Graphic). Who knew? FYI.
Regards,
Brett

That sounds interesting ... thanks for the heads up.

There's more to Andrew G than meets the eye!

That does look interesting!

Thay must have changed the photo Keith - no Crown Graphic now, but ...

I remember when he was hosting Idol thinking he was just another air head that looked good on camera and had the appropriate charm for the job. Then I read somewhere about his other interests one of which was photography ... and he went up a few notches in my book! :D

i wonder if it might show up on canadian cable tv?
Hi Joe,
yes, sorry, ABC = Australian Broadcasting Corporation, the publicly owned broadcaster and (IMHO) the best TV network in the country.

They have an online viewing/streaming portal ABC Iview and most of their content is uploaded onto that for free web viewing. You could try checking Iview the day after it airs (with time differences, your Thursday afternoon/evening should do) to see if it shows up, but, because you are not in Australia/NZ region, I have no idea if Iview will actually be accessible for you, sorry. Try it and see, I guess? Let me know how you get on, please, if you do.

I hope you're feeling a bit better today, too. It's never, ever easy is it?
:)
Best,
Brett

Yes, sorry, Chris, my error, the Crown Graphic photo I saw in a SMH article on line here instead...at least, I think it is a Crown Graphic? I haven't done the LF thing yet, (although I'd certainly love to have one), so I'm not that familiar with them.
Cheers,
Brett

That'd be geoblocked.

ABC iView is geo-blocked, which means that you can't access the programs from overseas.

There are ways around that, none of them I believe to be legal, so perhaps not to be discussed here.

Certainly a post-1955 Pacemaker, either Crown or Speed Graphic.

The camera he is pictured with - a Canon 7? That's a fast lens. If the Pacemaker and the rangefinder are both from his personal collection I fear he is suffering from GAS, the poor boy.

So you turn a relaxing pursuit that can potentially enrich a person's life into a back-biting, elbow-swinging melodrama with a good measure of greed thrown in?

:D:angel:

Thanks for the heads up! Hopefully it holds up. It was only a matter of time before a reality show around photography came about. Very suprised that Andrew G is an avid photographer. Good that hes into film photography rather :p

A trailer to suit http://youtu.be/0PFDTwsyypk

I thought I'd give this a bump and remind locals that this is on tonight ... in twenty minutes in fact ... 8pm.

For you OS RFFers ... my son is going to record this on his computer as an AVI and compress it to whatever ... and I'll do this every week. If someone not in Oz was desparate to see it I could send it to them on disc ... depending on whether it turns out to be crap or not of course. :p

Well, what did you think? I thought the format and the 30-minute time slot makes for a very rushed show. I wasn't impressed with the portrait the judges chose, but that's probably why they didn't invite me to be a judge! :) The concept is interesting and certainly challenging to the participants. Next week it's landscape on Mt Wellington in Tasmania - I hope they remembered their winter woolies and raincoats!
