So I just bought an R-D1 off a nice local guy, but I have a question about the battery. When I open the battery door, the battery kind of pops out about haflway, but that's about as far as it will come out. I don't exactly want to force it out, but I can't figure out how to remove the battery to charge it. Is something wrong with the camera, a button I need to press or am I just being an idiot?

By the way, I love the R-D1 so far. This was the first I've held one in person. It feels similar to my R2A, but just a bit fatter. Shutter is relatively quiet. I can't wait to put it through the paces.

Hi congratulations on your RD-1. Had mine nearly 2 years you just need to give the battery a slight tug to remove.Get it charged and have fun!

Regards
Steve

Thanks, Steve. I was just a little nervous about tugging on it. I can't wait to get out there with it.

Yeah, it came out fine with a little more pull. I was just being idiotically over cautious with it. I took a few shots around town today and I'm very pleased with the results so far.

I think it was a clever design decision to not let the battery just drop out. If it would drop onto a hard floor it could get damaged (and the good batteries ain't cheap as I recently found out!).
