My R-D1s arrived today (Sunday). I got it from Ebay, auction price with a 35 f2 Biogon for $3100.00. Matsuiya Store came through with great shipping. It left Japan on Friday and arrived today...sooo
took her out and made a few images...nice camera...kinda like my Leica's but different enuff to make me work alittle to get comfortable....
the viewfinder is great...like my old M3 in a way..... the finder lines are bright, rangefinder is small enuff to be unobtrusive....it'll be fun for the next week to give it a work out....
only glitch so far is getting the images out to the Mac...for some reason the card reader ain't workin'...so I ordered a new one....shame there's no USB on the camera....
I sold all my Canon stuff (5D ect) and settled on this baby...Ive been readin here for along time and maybe now I'll start posting too....

Congratulations on the new camera. I got an R-D1 about a month ago and its been great.
Have a MAC myself and use a card reader, no problems, so it must be your card reader. I don't find the absence of a built-in USB on the camera a major or even a minor problem. Maybe it would be more convenient to have one, but its just one of those things with the R-D1 and otherwise the camera has been fine.

congratulations! I hope yours will work out as do so many others.
Got mine one week ago and it is amazing.
I also use a OSX and have no issues with it. Pretty much use Sean Reid's workflow, including the JFI B&W color syncs that works great!
