Even includes the metering prong so I can hook it up to my Nikkormat FT2!

Did CV ever make the previous version in Canon Eos mount?

This lens is killer. I love the new look, not so much the new price.

I might have to get this for my son and his FM.

$630 is not bad at all! The ancient Nikkor 50 1.2 AIS is $700.
This offers more content (chipped etc) and style.
CV 50 1.5 M mount is $800.
Admittedly the old 58 1.4 was $490 but this one has moved on from there spec wise.

As I read it this is the same lens as before with new cosmetics. Which isn't a bad thing since even the earlier versions were fine lenses.

Very interesting! Now why couldn't Nikon make a real retro lens (no, the 50 1.8 bundled with Df doesn't cut it). But one resembling the old 105 P from the early 70s, or something like the 55 1.2 S.
