New Ricoh GR Digital III

Beware, once you get one in your hands on one! It's a slippery slope!

I'd recommend down load the instruction manual and read it through twice or three times to understand the different ways you can accomplish the same thing. Think about what you like to shoot and how you like to shoot and think about how to configure one. Then reach out to Tony at PopFlash.com, he is the MAN who sells everything Ricoh photographic here in the states. He even has a try it program which allows you to kick the tires before you dive in. VERY HANDY and he has great prices on everything. There are others, but he stands behind everything IMHO better than the rest.

My GRD III has kept me from going insane as I sell of my film stuff to bring in money being "In Transition".

Beside my dustcollecting D300 (weight) of Lowebag....and the RFs of Bessa and Zeiss together with 35 & 21mm, since November a GRDIII went into my pocket.
As an old fart I was at first irritated by the huge amount of menues and knobs.
Another drawback for me was/is the fixed lens of 28mm but the more I use it, even together with my Labrador, the pics are beutiful in my eyes.
Shooting mainly b/w after restarting photography, the GRDIII helped me to 'see' more color and- for the first time for me - macros.

In December the visit of Cyprus was done with a Zeiss/35/50mm and the Ricoh:

Here some mushrooms and a view from the french coast at Noirmoutier.

Composing the photograph by the rear screen or the optical viewfinder was another challenge for me but the more I use the black box the better it will get I hope.....

Compare to Leica my impression is that the people from Ricoh listen very close to customers and upgrade the firmware not only to eliminate bugs but to add improvements for the daily use.
This will blow up the functions and a secret is to ignore some of them...;)

It's a 'Black Beauty' for me...
