Hi All,
Hope the Rollei is close enough to a Bessa to be welcome here.
Thought I would use this first post to introduce myself. Been away from photography for a while (actually studied up to college level 6 years ago). Amassed a whole bunch of SLR equipment (mainly Minolta consumer level bodies, zooms, flash etc.) which have recently been used for nothing more than holiday photos.
Coming back after a long break, I decided to take a much different approach. Off-loaded all the SLR stuff and decided to take the less-travelled RF road. Was trying to decide between Bessa R/R2/R2a/R3a and Contax G1/G2 when I found the Rollei 35 RF for a very reasonable price so I went for it. (Thanks to helpful advice from Huck Finn)
Now the proud owner of Rollei 35 RF + 40/2.8 Sonnar. From multiple camera bodies, lenses, flash etc. to just a one camera with one lens feels strangely right (although will probably want to round out my kit with a ~90mm).
Only thing to do is to put a few rolls through it now.
Brian
