New Star Wars to be shot on Kodak film

It's old news, you've probably heard it before, but I'm excited about it. To quote JJ Abrams:

"If film were to go away – and digital is challenging it – then the standard for the highest, best quality would go away."

I also read somewhere they'll be using miniatures rather than CG. I wonder if they'll screw it up again? 😱

Looks like they picked the right director for the movie.

Yep...film is dead in the "film" industry.

Yep.... read about this about a month ago... I say it's a great way to shoot this. Film has a look to it that digital can't duplicate.

Just my opinion but

If you use digital you are a video maker, not a film maker.

Please change "film industry" to "video industry"

It matters not.
Digital technology is *very* good at replicating things.
If the film is shot on film, and if the director / producers / editors intended for it to look like how it was captured on film, digital reproduction and cinema projectors can faithfully deliver it.

We will be seeing a different look than the 3 prequels.
