[New test photos released] Leica Summicron 35/2 Eight Element copy made in China

Five hundred dollars or slightly above seems too cheap to me. If this lens is as good as the sample images suggest it deserves to sell for more than that in my opinion.

First, we don't know how good is this lens. No minimal aperture, against the light tests are provided.
Second, for above 500 here is tiny Ultron.

Would love a silver one but will definitely settle for a black one, so please put me down. Thanks.

I’d be interested in an LTM version.

For use on mirrorless it would be cool if the lens could focus closer than the typical 0.7m of M cameras.

Such a lens will not have a cult following like some Leica Lenses have. This is a fact. If the selling price is set too high, fewer lenses will sell.

Raid is right. This lens will never have a cult-status, except maybe over 50 years.

I never understood why Cosina did not made such a lens. The Color Skopar 50mm f/2.5 very much looks like it and is made in black paint on brass. Why didn't they made a 35mm f/2.5 lens just like the Color Skopar 50mm? That would have been a big hit.

Erik.

I thought Voigtlander did make two 35mm f/2.5 lenses, the Color Skopar 35mm f/2.5 C and also the Color Skopar 35mm f/2.5 P, both in LTM. Perhaps you mean the construction is a bit different? I think the 50/2.5 has a focus tab, while the 35mm Color Skopars have the little stick.

The latter has a Version II in M-mount, but it's styled like the 35/1.4 Nokton. The Head Bartender stocks it:
