I just noticed that Lightroom and Adobe Camera Raw get rid of dead pixels automatically, but Epson Raw does not. Does the method of getting rid of dead pixels via these plugins work differently than the touch-up eraser in Adobe Photoshop?

Thanks,
Ken

In principle they work similarly: they "look" for individual pixels that have drastically different values than their immediate neighbors, and fill them in with an average value based on the surrounding pixels.

They're less likely to affect larger details than the Photoshop tool, since they're targeted specifically toward bad pixels rather than larger structures, and of course they have the advantage of working automatically.

Is there any chance Epson will build such a function into their PhotoRAW utility?
