Thoughts on the lens cap filter size? Need a lens cap for this beauty.

If you want to keep it in this condition get filter, not just cap. Lens optics are very soft. If you'll try to clean it and push little bit - scratches. Better to clean filter.

I believe the lens cap is a 42mm (in fact KEH has one in EX for $16). The filter size is 36mm (A 36).

So if I nab the filter adapter, I assume I could use any modern uv filter that fits? What size fits the adapter?

Hi,
Just measured mine and the average for a slip-on is 41.3mm which is an odd size. I've several lenses that take a 42mm slip-on lens cap and have tried them on the Summitar but they will need a lot of padding to fit nicely. That sticky thin felt might do it but...
