I have won a Zorki "C" on our old pal e-bay, it is very badly disguised as a Leica (it looks appalling) which is a shame. I'll have a play when it arrives and see if it has potential (i.e. works) - I may be able to strip the paint off or something to make it look half decent.

I will of course post pics - should give you a laugh.

What’s wrong with Zorki now? It’s not a bad looking camera. Or did you get one of those fake Leica ones?

If you find you need some spare parts PM me, I have a Zorki C. Actually it’s a working camera and in decent condition (slow shutter speeds stutter) but I’m missing the takeup spool and can’t be bothered to track it down, too many other cameras to use.
If anyone wants it (with the lens) I’ll trade it for a few rolls of film.

Phantomas, I might take you up on that offer - I have too many Ilford Delta 400 at the moment (I'll have to check at home how many I have left) would you be interested in these ?

The camera itself looks fine, but the faking (apart from not looking like a Leica) is a bit cheesy. I'll post pics when it arrives and you can judge for yourselves :)

An odd story about this fake Leica...

I sensed a disturbance in the force :D (or rather judging by location and other items for sale made a good guess) and phoned someone I know who works for a different branch of the same company, and asked him if he had just sold one - turns out I have bought it from him :) What are the chances of that ?

Internal company mail will save on postage too ! ;)

as promised - pics of the "C".

The camera is from 1958 and deserves better. It needs a CLA but is in good condition (it may turn out to be be a bitsa) , the Industar 22 is optically clean and appears to be coated (more so on the rear element ??)

There appears to be some sort of slow-speed dial beneath the speed dial, but seems not to do anything. I will investigate further in due course. The shutter seems OK at 1/50 and above, occasionally the first curtain won't fire unless I let go of the shutter. It has been re-covered too.

Do I detect a tongue among the cheeks? If Zorkis were "fake" Leicas, they have more than enough company. Is a Kiev a "fake" Contax? Maybe better to call them "copies", not "fakes". At least they have their own names, and there WERE fakes that pretended to be called Leicas.

The "C" was sort of an in-between model. I have one, among several Zorkis I've picked up, and its main characteristic is that, try as I might, I cannot remove the lens from the body. It's the only one among those several that has that problem.

To me, the Zorki-3 is the better-looking one. It has the slow-speed dial on the front, a la Leica III, even if it's true that on most of them the slow speeds don't work very well.

Very much tongue-in-cheek :D

My Zorki will be re-Zorkified along with CLA, and will once again wear its name with pride - as will the I-22 :) After all, a 50-yr old camera deserves it's dignity.

The dial under the shutter speed is for adjusting flash-sync with flash bulbs, it has nothing to do with the shutter speeds. For electronic flash, leave it set on "0", for flash bulbs use the figure recommended by the manufacturer.

These are ex-mscowphoto .
I have 3x Zorki 1 and 3x Zorki S versions and they are beautifully finished with new blinds , exquiste if OTT engraving .
I love 'em to bits as something as Crazzee as ASdee .
