I'm new to this game but have been reading and lurking for a while...

I'm very close to buying a rangefinder and have boiled it down to Epson R-D1, M6 or M8, I have the funds for the cheaper options immediately but will have to wait for the M8 a while (and be restricted to one lens. I have already got a 28 1.9 Ultron and have first option on a 50 1.5 and 15 4.5. What would be the best bet? I own a D-lux 4 and samsung GX20 at the moment and will use the RF purely for pleasure....

Thanks in advance.

I've also put this in the R-D1 section, sorry if that offends mods, please delete one if it's inappropriate

I started out with the M6, still using the M6 extensively even though I also have/had the R-D1 and the M8. Therefore, my answer is "both" if you can afford it. Otherwise, go with the first answer to "film or digital?"

My first RF camera was the Epson R-D1s (with CV 35/2.5 PII, CV Nokton 50/1.5 and CV 15/4.5), then I bought an M6 classic and 35mm Summilux pre-ASPH, started developing my own film again and soon after sold the Epson (together with the CV lenses) ...

Cheers,

Gabor
