Picked up an as-is IIa from Blue Moon Cameras and Machine yesterday. The camera (as-is) case (good and good) Kodak L light meter (maybe 1/3rd stop off) and a filter pouch with a warming filter (both in good condition) put me out $70. There was good news and bad news with the camera. The good news is that after the typical cleaning and re-lubing of the helicals the camera is in near new condition. The bad news is that I really wanted something to tinker with for a while. Heck, even the view finder is as bright and shiny as a IIa ever gets. As an addendum I would like to say that it sure is nice still having a camera store where you can walk in and see most anything from a top of the line camera to a somewhat neglected, formerly rejected Diana with formats ranging from 8x10 view cameras to 9x11 minoxes.

We should all have such problems.
I just took a chance on a cosmetically nice but non-functional Konica Pearl IV from ebay, which will be a great find if I can get it working. I hope I have the same "problems" as you encountered.

Enjoy,
Dez

If you want some gear to tinker with, I can send you some of mine! I wish I were near Blue Moon; sounds like a great place.

I wish you luck.

Summer is coming and a walkabout should get you here in a month or there abouts. ;-)
