New V500, Now What?

V500 or

V500 or

ok, so a 12x18 print is reasonable and acceptable. Would it pay off to buy v750? Is the quality that much better then the v500?
Like if you want to scan an image for let's say a magazine would it make a difference? I think that if one would like to have perfect scans and prints for a show you better go to a professional lab, right?
Although i have seen some very acceptable prints from 6x6 negs for a show, up to the size of 20 inches.
And that aside my images are full of grain and unsharp already so as long as it does not pixelate i am ok with it.

So is the v500 about the same as the v750 or is it totally different?

What is like the maximum print size one can get with the v500 scans from a 35mm neg.?

thanks

it's reasonable if you hang it on the wall and don't look to close. Did you download any of my samples from the link and make a test (I can't upload anything big here). That is the only way for you to decide for yourself before you buy one. I don't think the scans would be good for magazines or for perfect prints. Nobody puts the magazine on the wall and reads it from 4 feet away. The V750 is better than the V500. The Nikon Coolscan 9000 is even better. Magzines will likely take the neg or slide and drum scan themselves.

Download the samples from this link if you can and make some test prints because it is cheaper than buying a scanner and then not likeing it.
