I handled this new lens at the factory. Its amazingly small and lightweight for its fast aperture.
The lens throw from infinity to .7 is short and very fast.
This is a GREAT handling small compact fast portrait lens.
The factory is very happy with its performance and image quality.
I think shooters will agree.

This is how 35 1.7 and 50 1.5 VM has to be made. IMO. With space to install focus tab. Or just no sharpeis on focus ring...

Nice to see that the design on this is cohesive unlike the complete mess with the other vintage line lenses.

Am I right in thinking the silver version of the 75mm is just the finish over an aluminum body, rather than the plated brass of the silver 50/f1.5 and 35/f1.7 versions?

it does not appear to be chrome

it's still silver chrome on aluminum, right? not silver paint? or is it anodized?

It looks anodised to me (but I certainly don't know for sure)...
The silver version I tried out at CP+ was anodized.
Tempting! I have the 75mm f/1.8 Heliar Classic and like it a lot. Compared to this new f/1.5 lens the older lens is 77g heavier, 10.5mm longer, and 4.9mm smaller in diameter. Focus to 0.9m for the Heliar Classic, and it uses 52mm vs 58mm filters for the new one's flared front. Quite an accomplishment to make the new lens lighter and shorter while also faster. Any sample pics to show, Jon?

Looks very interesting. Can't find any sample pictures on the net though. Not even on Voigtlander's own website, it's not even listed there.
Before I buy a lens I'd love to see some sample pictures.

I posted a couple in this thread below, Doug. Only had a few minutes to play with the lens so don’t have much to show for it.Any sample pics to show, Jon?
