Well, I just upgraded my X Pro and I am really impressed with the new frame lines and how accurate they now are. Fuji really nailed it with this new firmware update! I have been using Leica M cameras since 1990 and I can tell you now that these new frame lines are just as good as any Leica M camera. The actual image is a tiny bit wider than what the frame lines show which I actually like because I know what I am aiming at will be in the frame. Parallax correction is now very accurate. All Fuji needs to do now is improve focus peaking and this camera will be complete. I am really impressed as to how Fuji has responded to our concerns and is committed improving their products for the long haul for people who have Fuji cameras now and in the future!

If I remember correctly, I believe that I read somewhere that they brought in some pro photographers that had been using their equipment.. Spent a couple of days w/ them finding out what they need to fix and I think they may have shown they some prototypes under nda. One of the blog entries showed a hazy picture of what could have been prototypes.
The priority of the fixes we are seeing may be a result of that meeting.

I'm glad the framelines are good because the rest of the camera doesn't have much heft.

What? Explain, please. You think it should weigh more?

Great, two years (numbers: 2) after release date and the camera is becoming perfect (becoming = not yet).

I was happy spending my money on a X-Pro more than one year ago and I have never regretted a minute. In the meanwhile AF and usability improved a lot... and now these accurate frame lines! ... Can I ask for more?

i'm getting tempted to grab a used body, but if the x-pro1 can improve this much, how much better will the x-pro2 be two years after launch?

Couldn't agree more about the frame lines. I had pretty much converted myself to EVF (thinking maybe Fuji was trying to push us there
but now I'm back to OVF even in bright light!!
Thanks for the Christmas present, Fuji !!!!!

The point of camera trolls is to always throw a negative into any thread about any camera except the ones they are fans of. Which may be none...
Barnack: "squinty viewfinder"
Leica M2 M3: "cloth shutters."
Nikon F: "too heavy"
etc., etc., forever....ad nauseum.

That would be an interesting thread - "The history of camera trolls'... rock much better than papyrus - last longer

I think (but doubt he realises) he is trying to say that unlike Sony, Leica et all that Fuji really care about their customers and their products and continually improve their cameras by LISTENING to customer feedback and by offering regular firmware updates.
When I owned a Sony NEX-7 I received *1* solitary firmware update to switch off that stupid movie button that should never have been in the position it was in the first place. With my X-Pro1 I had loads of firmware updates continually improving pretty much most aspects of the camera.
Fuji have got it! (Ricoh too have it!) If only the other camera manufacturers would take heed and "get it", don't just release a camera and let the buyer beta test it so you can refine it in the next model and rob them of even more cash. FIX IT NOW!
I'm really missing the Fuji X system, unlike my Leica M9 it just plain worked *ALL* of the time. And it keeps getting better all of the time too. What's not to like?
I will def re-buy an X-Pro1 once funds are in place.
