Hi folks

I finally jumped into the digital bandwagon. I got myself a barely used X100 (it's like new in box). The experience of opening the box was magical, and the camera inside was beautiful. My wife's reaction on seeing the camera, "doesn't that look like those film cameras that you had?". :)

The initial images are totally mind-blowing. I love the look out of the camera JPGs, though I do plan on processing the RAW files with RPP + Lightroom.

So, the new kit is the very thin. X100 for small format, and Hasselblad for the the film fix.

Oh! I also ordered the Lensmate Thumbrest+, and the JJC hood + adapter.

cheers.

Thats beginning to look like my situation as well, except XP1 and a 500CM for film fix.
Though my M2 will never leave! just needs a nice Planar ;)

Enjoy it! The x100 is a fantastic camera.

I have a 500C + 80 + 40, this is I will never let go.

btw, can I tempt you with a 50 Summilux? :D

I have never read a camera manual so confusing... :bang:

As much as I'd like a Lux, I probably wouldn't be able to afford it. haha.
I skipped the manual for the xpro-1, I may pay the price later, so far, not so much!

Welcome to the fold of satisfied X100 users! I shoot for stock. After I saw the results from the X100 I sold my D7000 kit and will probably eventually get the X-Pro-1 for when a different lens is required. Right now, the X100 gets the jobs done — at least 96.5% of them.

I have both the thumb rest and hood you mention. Worthwhile products well executed. The thumb rest also wraps around the EC dial helping to keep it set where you want it.

Thanks guys.I am really enjoying the camera so far. The jpegs out of the camera are too good.

Absolutely love my X100. My M8 has been collecting dust since I bought the Fuji. Image quality is about the same (both more than sufficient for my needs) but the X100 is so much more fun to use.

I have been using a soft shutter release on mine without any problems for the past two weeks.

Just got the Thumbrest+ from LensMate. It is really beautifully machined. Love how it fits into the camera. The usability has definitely improved.
