New Zealand's East Cape

Some superb shots there Jason. Is a very interesting part of NZ, and if you polled most Kiwis few would have been there. Agree the B&W stands out most to me as well. Am heading to Switzerland for my first 'photography first' trip ever and can't decide what to take. Less is obviously more I reckon but like you I have to many choices. M9/M6/Xpan/Rolleiflex/Rollei35 is the short list so far, good problem to have I'm sure but hate the wish I brought that camera with me feeling when you leave something behind. Head says take M9/M6 + 3 summicrons.

Hey Dave

Good to hear from you, thanks for that. Wow, that sounds like an exciting trip, quite envious. You have as much gear as I do.....less is definitely more, make your mind up and stick to it, forget you even have the other gear while your away. M9/M6 + 3 sum microns, sounds perfect!!

Take it easy and enjoy if I don't hear from you before.

Some wonderful photos and a nice write up. And I disagree with the idea that limiting ones equipment is somehow kind of noble. You took the cameras you wanted to take, and if you're driving and the equiptment is as small as Leica is, why not take as many as you feel like. Its not as of you have to carry them all at the same time ;)

Thanks for that, i suppose you take the gear to cover your options, where as if you had one camera and lens you'd most likely still make the shot work....I'm kinda torn!! Cheers Jason

Some great photos Jason. Beautiful place. Congratulations on the LFI inclusions, well deserved. I enjoyed your account of your path to the M9.

Very nice photo series...

Beside shot with M9, did u shot "No Country for Old Men" with film as well?

Thanks, no I didn't but I really wish I had!!!!! I mentioned on my Blog this was just me and my two young sons having a bit of a road trip, I was conscious of not turning it in to a photo trip. So in truth much of the time I was rushing....I'm going back for sure!! Cheers Jason
