Though the Washington Post is my homepage, I'm much more eager to know the latest on the "shipping" of the new Zeiss Ikon RF. As per prior threads, that "shipping" was supposed to commence October 28th. That was 13 days ago. To those in the know: what's happening? What new delays? What new QC issues? What new gossip? I want those silver ones gobbled up ASAP so I can get my hands on a black one.

I ordered mine today from Dr. Joseph Yao in Hong Kong. He said that sales have been brisk & that mine is his last one except for one more which is on its way, but reserved for him. He sold out in a week because most of his supply was already committed to customers who had put them on reserve. He said that it may be a while before he gets any more because his understaning is that the American market is the priority right now. Photo Village now has them in stock, so I assume that other USA dealers do as well or will be receiving them shortly.
Apparently shipping did begin on the 28th from Sweden to Hasselblad distributors around the world. They then had to be shipped from the distributors to dealers which accounts for any lag in dealers having them in stock. As mentioned above Dr. Yao received his over a week ago.

I got a call from my dealer in Philadelphia on Tuesday. He said my camera would ship Wednesday. With any luck, maybe I'll see it Thursday. If not, then Saturday, as there is no mail delivery Friday because of the holiday. Rats!

Leo's doesn't have them yet, so I don't believe anything Ikonic anymore...except for the lenses.
