Having found happiness with a Leica IIIa and Summar,
I indulged again and picked up a Leica II with an uncoated
Elmar. My wife and I went hiking yesterday and, well, with
a Leica, it seems, passions can overwhelm someone not
quite yet in control of the beast:
Is this what they mean by
"Leica glow"?

Who cares if this is the Leica glow, the important thing is , this is a very well made shot - my preference would be to burn in a bit the lower right corner, but anyway this is a first rate image, bravo!

Burn in the lower right corner? Yes, that was my first reaction as well...

Nice shot. Weston would be proud, and maybe a little jealous that you didn't have to lug around an 8x10 view camera to get such pleasing results! BTW, thanks for adding the nudity "warning" in the subject.

Thanks, all, for the kind words. Regarding the lower right corner: I may try burning the corner when I go to print. But this is a straight scan from the negative. I thought viewers of the forum might prefer to see an unmanipulated scan, better to appreciate how the Elmar held up under these conditions. Sanders

I'd like to see you work the scan, print it up and then compare it to a good wet print. Beautiful work...

Great shot!
I would add to the comments about a touch of burning in the lower right corner.
For my eyes, a touch less contrast would be nice as well.
Bravo!

Thank you, all of you, for the comments.

Excellent photos! You get more hits from a roll than I get from a dozen!

Amazing shot. Which version of the Elmar is it?. 50 2.8? 3.5? Old or new?.

I guess that the suggestion of "burning" the lower right should actually be "dodging". (Strange, I seem to be coming back to this thread all the time...

And how old might you be..?Egbert Souse said:"Amazing, stunning, magnificent...etc etc, blah blah blah"
All the old farts get so excited just when there's a naked girl in the photo.
