Leica LTM Newbie dives deeper into Leica madness (WARNING nudity inside)

Leica M39 screw mount bodies/lenses
"Amazing, stunning, magnificent...etc etc, blah blah blah"

All the old farts get so excited just when there's a naked girl in the photo.

A very good start for you, being it your first post. Trying making friends, don't you?.

And being 30, I'm not that old, you know. Maybe I'd have been excited watching a naked girl picture when I was 14, but believe me, a naked woman's picture is not showing anything I haven't seen before. And this is not just a "naked womean picture". The composition is great, the point of view of the camera, the tree and branches is what get my attention, and the woman just adds to the picture (her position and expresion).

Welcome to RFF Egbert. I hope first impressions aren't always accurate.

Huub, burning (adding more exposure to the enlarging paper) would darken the corner, which is what was suggested.

 Oops... Long time since I used my dark room. You're right Frank. My brains are working in reverse. Too much auto-everything photography lately:mad: ...

I can't think of an original comment, but those are beautiful photos, you are very talented.

I know these are great because of the photographer and not the gear, but I'd still like to know: what film were these shot on?

Matthew

Hey, thank you all for the kind words. You are all very kind to a newcomer.

Javimm: The Elmar is a 5 cm uncoated nickel 3.5, unshaded.

Matthew: I shot these on Foma 200, exposed somewhere around EI 80-100, and souped in a 1:50 Rodinal solution for 8-9 minutes. Roger Hicks tipped me off to this film and I am much indebted to him for the lead.

One more from the same roll, also through the Elmar:

T, I think that's about it. I thought I was stretching to include the last post in the keeper pile. :)

Sanders,

I am fascinated by the different moods you caught in the three photos of your wife.
Almost like a different person in each photo. My compliments to you and her.

Best,

Roland.

Roland, that is kind of you. I see you are a Sonnar man. I know a fellow could get into trouble around here for saying this, but the Leica is a bit of a lark for me. I shoot 95 percent of my work these days on a Tele Rolleiflex, which has a magnificent 135mm Sonnar for a taking lens. If you are curious -- I won't clutter this site with offtopic Rolleiflex posts -- you can find an odd assortment of my recent efforts, including many Tele Rolleiflex squares, at http://www.flickr.com/photos/sandersnyc/ .
