Hi everyone, I am a newbie Rangefinder owner. I bought an old QL-17 on e-bay and I am in love. I was inspired by a photographer on these forums to try one out. I have started to post pictures in my gallery but to be honest I have only shot one roll of film so far. As soon as I can afford to I am going to buy a step up ring and a couple of filters. I was thinking about a polarizer and a #25 red filter for B&W. I am not real sure about how to post in your critique forums but will soon. I hope to get to know some of you and pick up some great tips. Here is one of my first pictures. I call it Subliminal Message. Look at it hard and you will get it I hope....

Thanks guys, I hope to get to know you guys and learn much. I was saving my pennies to go digital sometime next year, but now am having second thoughts. I have caught the Rangefinder bug and am finding myself looking at more of them than the digital cameras. But "wow" good Rangefinders are expensive. For now I will keep my Canon close by. I posted a link to my site., but most of the pictures are SLR pictures, I hope you don't mind. But I will soon be adding a Rangefinder section, I hope. Thanks for the welcome.

Not all of them are. The Voiglander Bessa series are very good. If you're willing to take a chance with FSU (Former Soviet Union) gear, you can get some great stuff at bargain prices. The FSU lenses are an especially good value (and more likely to work reliably).

Welcome to the forum; it's a great place.

Welcome to RFF! I saw your uploads to the gallery yesterday & really liked all of your pictures. The Canonet was one of my first rangefinders as it probably was for many members here...

Welcome to the addiction of rangefinder cameras.🙄 I picked-up a canon canonet 28 as my first rangefinder camera, and the fever took off. I followed that one up with the purchase of another 28, then 2 QL25s, a QL17 and QL19 all from the 60's, and a GIII QL17. Plus a couple of Yashica Electro 35 GSNs, an Argus C3 matchmatic, and a few more cameras coming to me in the next week. So you can see why "I" call it and addiction.😀 I guess, you could say, I have a bad case of GAS.😱 I hope that you're enjoying yourself with your new friend, and I look forward to seeing the resultsof your photo shoots.
