This is my first post on this forum, so please bare with me.
I have been a Nikon shooter for quite a few years and have just switched to Leica. What craftmanship. I have purchased the M8.2. My question is probably a silly one but I must ask.
After installing the battery and SDHC card I get a warning that says
"Attention bottom covered removed" I can't seem to get passed this point to the menu areas. I cannot find anything in the manual that tells me what to do. What am I not doing correctly.
Please don't becritical. I so want to take pictures with the M8.2
Thank you

Funny about half of the time I put my cover on I get it 1/2 off on the tab side and get this message.

Not sure you got it sorted out yet, but the end of the bottom cover opposite the twist catch has a slot that has to fit over the protruding tab on the camera. If you just attach the cover without seating the slot, the twist catch will work, but you will get the "bottom cover removed" warning. I've done it several times. Best of luck and enjoyment with your new camera.

This is a situation to avoid at all costs. it throws a huge strain on the bodyshell. That may cause microcracks, which, at a later stage, may cause base plate failure.

Well, actually I was talking about user error in fitting the baseplate. And the camera gets blamed for the resulting broken bodyshell....:bang:
