Does anyone know if the newest autofocus lenses, like the Tamron 35/1.8 VC will work on the Nikon F5? Furthermore, will you also get the vibranction compensation as well?
Not sure about the Tamron specifically, but new Nikon AF-S G lenses work fine, even on my F100 - it's the new E (electronic aperture control) lenses that don't (you only get wide open aperture)
Thanks for the reply - that is good to know. I'm interested in the Tamron's also, there are a few folks on Flickr that seem to be using them on the F5/F100. But when I asked Tamron specifically they said "no" it wouldn't even auto focus.
So Tamron is saying the newest SP lenses will work (i.e. auto focus and VC) on the F6 only. I am still curious if this is true or not, I have seen people using them on Flickr on both the F5 and F100. But they may be using manual focus only.
