News on the R-D1 future ?

...Epson has been distancing itself from the RD-1 from day one. Why would it introduce another "orphan"?

I know a manager of Epson Switzerland (printer dept.), he was very angry about the negative publicity because of the R-D1 quality problems. Nevertheless he is actually using one privately (and borrows my lenses)...
