Early firmware, so-so lens and I'm guessing that these are in-camera JPG. Low ISO looks good, but high ISO looks absolutely dreadful. I downloaded and downsized the brick wall/vine image and was quite impressed, but higher ISO is, well, what you might expect from a 24Mpix APS-C sensor.

Since it's early firmware, it's not really of much use. The production units in November are the real test.

Wait, I thought that dreary boring samples are the lifeblood of many photo sharing sites...

Looks like the noise reduction algorithm needs some work- not awful, but could be better. I agree with DI that the production version of the software will be the real test.

It seems My M8 blows these Nex 7 samples away by leaps and bounds. Hopefully this is a firmware and lousy lens issue. This could make me buy the Ricoh GRX . We will see when this thing hits the street!

Yes, the GXR/NEX-7 comparisons will be very interesting.

Interesting. I've never seen a full sweep panorama shot before. EXIF data says 18mm Focal width, but it was shot with a 55-210 lens.More Samples:

Some better high ISO shots included.
So I'm guessing that they fudged the focal length based on the actual lens setting divided by the number of shots it actually stitched together? 55 / 3 = 18?
And how does this calculated focal length affect the "CircleOfConfusion" and "HyperfocalDistance" EXIF data?
