perfect.

also, you might have a look at www.LATFH.com.

The "hipsters" always seems to diss my digital camera. Until you dig deeper and find out they have a 5d at home. ;)

ah. thanks for the tips and definitions. i had gone to google and read a couple of of the suggested articles. i might have an irony thing going when i wear my led zeppelin t-shirt. young people give me the once-over. and if a conversation erupts, i am quick to modesty-brag: i saw led zep in the summer of 1969. duuuuuuuuude usually is the reply ...

my favorite hipster joke:

how many hipsters does it take to screw in a lightbulb?

oh, it's an obscure little number, you probably wouldn't know about it.

This is a good example of ironic hipster journalism. :p

from the comments to the article linked...

Very true. A nice discussion of how hipsters leech meaning from culture appears here (http://newyork.timeout.com/articles/features/4840/why-the-hipster-must-die#ixzz0y7KY1t3k), but the meat of it is this:

"Under the guise of 'irony,' hipsterism fetishizes the authentic and regurgitates it with a winking inauthenticity . . . . As the hipster ambles from the thrift store to a $100 haircut at Freemans Sporting Club, [the aesthetics of fringe movements and ethnicities] are assimilated—cannibalized—into a repertoire of meaninglessness, from which the hipster can construct an identity in the manner of a collage, or a shuffled playlist on an iPod."

There's another good article over here, https://www.adbusters.org/magazine/79/hipster.html. This one makes note of my personal favorite hipster trend, where hipsters display their fierce Palestinian nationalism by sporting keffiyehs.

Fantastic work. I tried out one of these today, and I think it might be my DSLR replacement.

I've been skimming through the kerfluffles on other forums about color shifts on this camera with Biogons and so on. Did these images need any adjustment for that?

i didn't see any magenta shift or corner weirdness. but apparently 28mm isn't really wide enough to create those sorts of problems.

i will say that my 28/2.8 canon ltm did have some corner issues (at least in photographing brick walls and wood floors...) where the contax really didn't. i really wish the ergonomics were better for the contax lens because i like the results a lot.

i'm still on the fence. on the one hand, i don't love the thing. focusing doesn't snap for me (yet) like on an RF. on the other hand, maybe i shouldn't expect that kind of rapid focus, and it is wonderful with longer focal lengths. i have till april 6 to decide. i'm going to go look at an x100 this weekend. lol me.
