I was a bad boy and sprung for an NEX7 that should be delivered Monday. It wasn't quite an impulse purchase, but close - I've been interested in checking the NEX7 out since it was first announced, but after I had a chance to handle one I decided to not wait and decide after the new Fuji is released.

I would like to pick up a few native lenses - I have my eye on the Sigma 30/2.8 since the Zeiss 24/1.8 is out of reach for now - but I also want to jump into the fun of using legacy glass on NEX. One thing I have very little interest in trying is my Leica M mount glass.

I ordered Rainbow Imaging adapters today for OM and Nikon F mount. Some of the lenses I own that I'd like to try on the NEX to see if I can replicate my favored 35/75 Leica M kit are:

Zuikos - 24/2.8 and 50/1.8. I also have a 35/2 and a 135/3.5 I'd like to at least try.

Nikkors - 24/2.8 AI and 50/1.2 AIS. I have many others I'd like to try too, but these are the main ones. (I wonder how the 43-86 does on NEX? ;) )

Has anyone tried any of these four specific lenses - Oly 24/2.8 & 50/1.8 and Nikkor 24/2.8 AI & 50/1.2 AIS - on their NEX7 that can offer me a preview of how well they will (or will not) work?

Why the little interest in M glass? If you have any and it's 35mm or wider, I think you'll be impressed. Especially if you get a Hawk's adapter - the ability to close focus is a huge win. And they would be smaller than the SLR lenses no?

I'm not interested in using M glass (for now, anyways) for a few reasons:

1 - none of my existing M lenses equate to my favored 35/75-e focal lengths, and I'm not in the market for more Leica glass. I'm actually trying to slim down what I have.

2 - I have drawers full of great legacy glass that I could use on the NEX. After I try Olympus and Nikon, I'll probably pick up a Pentax SM adapter and try my old H3-era Takumars.
