Nice looking P + 50mm/f1.2 for sale

I would love to talk you out of it but can't think of a single reason not to buy it.

Okay, here's a good reason NOT to buy it: that 50/1.2 lens is really crummy. Details at full aperture are soft and there's a notable lack of microcontrast, as Erwin Puts would say. It makes lousy pictures like this one I shot years ago with a 50/1.2 when I used to own one (see bottom inset for detail view.)

In fact, I dislike the 50/1.2 so much that I just bought another one, simply to keep it out of the hands of the unwary...

Joe, That is a lot of money for a Canon P with 50mm F1.2! JLW just bought the mint F1.2 for under $300, and Oscar got a P with lenses for a bit more than $200!

JLW: Beautiful picture!

i'm looking at just the body, he has someone else who wants the lens. works for me as i'm not into fast glass.
the price for the body is just a few bucks more than i paid for my current p and it's in much nicer shape.

Hmm, not bad. I thought you had more. Good job joe keeping under 10 🙂

I have to restrain myself on Ebay sometimes. I saw an SPn go for about $50 the other day. Now there is a black QL17 GIII on there. ! Oh the horror.... :bang:

Joe, keep the User Canon P. With the Mint one, you will be too worried about cosmetics to "bang it around". I know you can use the Canonator for that, but I am trying to come up with reasons for you. If you keep the 2nd Canon P, you will have a "Mint camera to be Babied", "A very reliable Shooter", and a "Cheap-I did not pay too much for it" Beater.

See how it works! We will not go into my categories that depend on the Day of the Week and Phases of the Moon.

brian,

i'm never afraid to use my stuff, even the new stuff.
i'd like to keep both p cams, but it will depend on cash flow.
ya gotta remember, i'm a poor social worker and i'm also dealing with an exchange rate.

the really nice thing about this p is that it was cla'd this past year.
i'm curious to see if there is a difference.
