I like the vivitar 35ES. Nice, fast lens and a clean-looking, well-finished body. Very sleek, in my opinion.

+1 Brilliant design, reminescant of the Leica M3, IMHO, with the elevated front panel. Lacquer also very tough and resembling the Leica paints. A joy to shoot, and tack sharp lens.

I had never seen, nor even heard, of the Werras until this thread. What charming cameras ... definitely on the look out for one now, almost more as a piece of "industrial design sculpture" than as a camera -- what a fabulous looking object!

Another vote for the Werra, in my case a beloved model IV. Right up there with the classic good looks is a Leica Digilux 2: another brick-with-a-lens.

Oh it wasn't just the US. I think I even had a wood grain tee when I was a kid

My step-mom's job during that time was operating a machine in a factory that applied the "woodgrain" tape to plastic TV cases. She got the job because she had the right touch to get the vinyl tape to wrap around the corners without stretching and distorting the woodgrain.

I'm still trying to figure out what bmattock was talking about. Anyway Al,(and I usually regret getting into these discussions online) I prefer the Konica C-35, but only f you can find one in a thrift store for $5. Now THAT'S sexy! In a sense. Sort of.

For simple compact rangefinder appeal, I really like the Minolta Hi-Matic F. In fact, mine tagged along to work today.

But then again I really think that the Hi-Matic 7sII is a sweet little camera as well...

To tell the truth, I just like cameras.
