I'm waiting for their "Dust" plug-in. Not only do you get faux grain, you get the experience of using the spot-healing brush in Photoshop. Combined, these two experiences give you a near true-to-life experience of scanning various film types.

For an additional $50, for a limited time, you can get a plug-in that will simulate what happens when you forget Digital ICE is on when scanning silver-based negatives.

Totally worth it.

I discovered that Leica actually supply that with the M8 (dust negative) by cleverly making sure that the sensor comes supplied with a good coating of various sized particles on it! Removing the crud is optional of course but unfortunately they don't supply the necessary equipment for the removal! :angel: 😀

People are paying to make digital images like they were shot from a Holga...so you're not off the mark, even when I see that tongue-in-cheek.

Plug-ins to make digital images look like the photo lab operator was getting over a hang-over and overdeveloped your film, forgot to rinse it, and let it sit in the microwave for 1:30 minutes. All of that for only a few hundred dollars.

I wonder if this sort of thing happens in the hotel industry, where they have retro rooms in their five-star hotels which have crawling bugs, coin-operated TVs, and that extra touch of moaning coming from the other side of the wall. Just because it's cool. 😉

$300 is steep. I've been pretty happy with DXO filmpack at under $100. Here is a Delta 400 simulation:

I have worked with a demo of the original Exposure and liked it (may decide to get it as well).
