This weekend, I started dabbling in some night photography/light painting. Here are a few images from the last couple of evenings:

Midnight Broadcast

Fearsome Ford

Leviathan

Untitled

All images were in the 4-6 minute range at f11-16, ISO 200, shot with a Fuji X-Pro 1. Light painting was with gelled LED flashlight and colored LED nightsticks.

I've always been a night owl, so this pursuit fits in with my schedule quite nicely.😉

Wow, love those shots! I haven't tried anything like that in a very long time. Don't think that anything I tried turned out that nice. I also did some spirals with a light on a string and different filters. I have also done painting with flash and with light bulbs on old matted fotographs. But it's all a very long time ago. I think I would love to try your technique.

Looks good!

I've done a lot of night shooting, first using available light (urban lighting with low-hanging clouds reflecting the city lights) and more recently light-painting under the full moon, or indoors as seen below. There's definately a learning curve! I'm still a rookie. Its fun practicing though!

Here's a couple more light painting shots. I'm getting into the busy time of my regular photo season, but more will be on the way.😉
