Nik collection is back!

The preview I read says nothing new has been added, except compatibility with the latest Adobe CC versions.

If you don't already have the Nik tools, that would be $49.00 well spent.

Considering the utility and history of these tools, they are priced well. And, as a maintained software, this is good news.

I just got an e-mail notice too. If the new versions are as good as they were at their peak (before Nik was sold), it will be worth every penny. Good news in an era when it seems most of our favorite photo things just go away.

I got it when it was free and I've used it a lot more than I thought I would ... it's very good and I agree that the price makes it very worthwhile.

I just found this thread.
I too downloaded it free years ago and wouldn`t be without it now.
I would be prepared to pay £50 for it were it neccesary. It`s a very useful program and fits in well with Photoshop CS4 extd.

I originally purchased the Nik Collection when it was nearly $500 so when it went free it hurt a little :). After it was obvious that Google wasn't going to be doing much with it, I drifted to other tools.

When DXO announced they would be releasing the collection for $49 I bought it (partially to help keep it supported) and have been using Silver Efex, Color Efex, and Viveza without issue with the Latest Lightroom Classic CC. Happy to have them back.

I liked the free Google price better and wish I hadn't deleted the .exe files. But I can spring for $50 if need be. Hopefully, DXO fixed the issue of it hanging sometimes (too often) when it passes the altered Nik file back to Photoshop. If you have this issue, the solution is to go into whatever app in the Nik suite and under "setting" change "create new layer" to "use original layer" (or something like that -- you'll know it when you see it...) Nik hangs sometimes (too often) when it tries to create its own new "Nik" layer in Photoshop. Disabling this option in each app in the suite's settings corrects this but it applies the changes to the original layer. Suboptimal solution but it's much better than having to stop Photoshop in Task Manager.

I have the .exe file, I can send it to you if you'd like
