I just got the test roll back, every shot came out fine! No light leaks, no pinholes in the shutter, no shutter speed problems. And....like just about every Leica clone I've had...no CLA needed! Fuji Superia, If I recall.

Very nice !
I should get my Nicca serviced / re-curtained and burn some film.

This is my favorite lens hands down, as well. I have a late Japan, black ring, from about 1957, sn 393xxxx.
I also owned the 50/2 LTM Nikkor. I compared them side by side and found them almost identical at their same f-stops.
In case anyone is interested further, I administer a Flickr group dedicated to this family of lenses. Would love to see some of the nice shots in this thread in the group!

Thanks folks. Yeah, I know these lenses, I have 2 others, a Tokyo, and Japan version. I'm going to sell the slightly later date one, I wanted the earlier. PM if interested.
With the soft focus wide open, and the close focus macro ability, they are very versatile lenses.
Garret:
Are you the author of several books on Photography? I just realized you may be. I have several books by Garret regarding B&W photography. What a nice finding!

Not me. I've written some articles, but no books.
