I just won an auction for a collapsible
Nikkor 50/2 in LTM. The barrel is pristine
but the front element is marred.

Is the front element in the rigid 50/2
the same as in the collapsible version?
How hard would it be to swap them?

I thought the 5cm f2 collaspsible was estimated to be in the region of 3,000 according to Rotolini, and 30-40% were made in LTM?

The Hybrid has an estimated run of 500-700, while the regular rigid is almost 100,000. I would think the lens is special in terms of the collapsible mount, but the optical formula is definitely the same. One is being currently offered by a reputable dealer with scratched glass at $1,800. Of course, whether it is indicative is unknown as there are too few to know what the value is.

I believe the front element can be swapped, as the helical is built into the S-mount lenses but not the LTM ones.

I just picked up a Nikkor HC 1:2 f=5cm collapsible ltm mount.
Will need a cla, aperture is hard to turn, haze, no fungus.
Any idea of what it is worth?

Thank you
