Odd, cause there a few out there that have a little lower BIN price.
Maybe I should sell mine?

the case must have added $150, or the bidders just went crazy.
The case is very rare. Usually these lenses come with a Nicca camera. This one was bought separate from the camera. The Nikkor cap is also rare, mine says "Nicca" on it.

Geez, my case included the Lens and UV filter for a 110 dollars twenty years ago.

I always thought the black rim version was more expensive:

The buyer could have gotten it a little cheaper right here in the RFF classifieds
Congrats to the seller. He knew what it was worth and it sold for that.
Mine was $95 about 5 years ago , but no caps or case. From Midwest Photo Exchange.

I'd say that the best deal is to get the version made for the Nikon S rangefinder cameras, it's very easy to find mint condition lenses at bargain prices on Ebay.
Then use the lens with Amedeo Muscelli's Nikon S to Leica M adapter

Either that, or simply buy an S2 to go with it.
Leica M3 plus Nikkor 50/1.4 = circa $1000. Nikon S2 plus Nikkor 50/1.4= circa $500.

You're quite right my friend. But I have been getting trouble to find the Nikon S2 camera at a good bargain price on Ebay, whereas the Amedeo Muscelli's adapter should cost around 250 USD instead
I got a mint condition like brand new Nikkor-S.C Nippon Kogaku Tokyo 50mm f/1.4 pre war lens on Ebay around 180 USD
So far, I've been hunting for the Nikon S2 camera but in vain, I think that I'll get Amedeo's adapter later then

Just curious to know when you say "pre war", which war do you mean?
