I bought a Nikkor 85cm in chrome second model . I am considering a body to marry this lens with. Any suggestions would be appreciated as well as thoughts on the the optics of this lens. My old eyes need a bright viewfinder.
Thank you.

I'm assuming S mount since this is the Nikon forum.

Bessa R2S (if you can find one) would be the best option.

the sp has the brightline for the 85 , it is perhaps your best choice .

My bad, I should have noticed the Nikon RF forum. Agreed with the SP, and if your budget allows, look at the SP 2005 -- the viewfinder is nice and bright.

Don't eXchange Freedom!
Besides the cost of a R2S is + 1000 USD now. Get and SP!
That was the lens that made the Nikon Legend.

I would disagree. For a really bright and usable view, get a CV brilliant finder from Stephen Gandy... then use the lens on any body you desire. That's what I did.

If brightness is key then this is probably the best idea.
The S3 is an alternative to the SP. Although it doesn't have framelines for 85mm, it isn't impossible to use the 105mm framelines and guesstimate just inside these.
