so far i've only taken a few shots with this . . . but while its mounted on my canon, i noticed immediately that it wont focus @ infinity (you can see this through the finder also). it looks similar to my canon lens with the infinity lock before it is set. it seems to be fairly sharp otherwise...
any ideas on this lens, combination, etc.?

Check the RF tongue on the lens if somebody has done something to it.
(I had one where the tongue needed to be replaced because it was
filed down).
Also, check with another camera if you can.
Great lens (see my avatar).
Best,
Roland.

thanks, roland. the tongue looks to be in good shape, a little brassing but that's all. i just tried it again, with the streetlights in my neighboorhood, still the same problem (@ inf. the split-image won't come fully together. the tripod mount is not screwed into the lens barrel, but i don't think that matters.
i don't have any more ltm bodies, unfortunately, so i'll bring the lens to my camera store tomorrow and try it on one of their leica III bodies for sale.
appreciate your help.

One more thing: this lens has a very long throw. You need to focus at
something far away, like a star at night or so.
Also when it is at infinity, does the lens focus ring point to the infinity mark ?
Can you check the rear of the lens, there is a rectangular sheet-metal
shade that sometimes gets in the way. Check if this is OK, too.

I use this lens on Nikon-S mount. Same formula as LTM mount. There are no optical focus-shift issues. Focusing is critical but accurate wide open at minimum focus, and accurate wide open at infinity.
