Is it Nikon S-mount? Black or chrome? Just curious.

1948nikon said:The lens is Nikon S mount (internal) and what makes it even more interesting is that it is chrome! All reports handed to me from my Nikon sources say that it should be black going by the serial number , there is much confusion over the 46mm thread.

It's just a Chinese (and to a lesser extent Japanese) lucky number thing 😉 In Chinese, the number "4" is pronounced the same way as "death" (the intonation is different) so its considered unlucky when there is a "4" in a number, especially so when its at the end of the number. The flipside is the number "8" which has the same pronounciation as "prosper". When you get a few 8's in a row .... WOW 😎 But of course, if you're not Chinese, it doesn't matter 🙂jsuominen said:What so special with 4's?
You think that's bad .... a vintage SP at the local camera store is 6214444 😱😱😱NIKON KIU said:What do you think Jon?
