Nikkormat EL CLA?

Looks like this must not be a popular camera with RFFers. I would guess your best bet is to google for answers, and start contacting repairers. One the may not show up unless you google by name is Frank Marshman. He closed his shop, but still does work from his home. Many here at RFF have recommended him. You would want to call. He may or not want to work on a particular camera. He will tell you. Good luck.

A few months ago I took an Nikkormat FT2 Advance Camera in Raleigh Hills, Oregon for a full CLA. They did a great job and they service all types of cameras.

Just was given this name for the same camera, as I just found out Nikon Canada does not do film cameras anymore. Here's one next door to you
Kurt's Camera Repair,
7811 Mission Gorge Rd, Suite #E,
San Diego
619-286-1810

I also was given Advance Camera Repair to, but at a different addy:
8124 Beaverton, Hillsdale Hwy, Portland, Oregon

I cleaned mine so I may do a cleaning article of some sort in my richardhaw.com blog. Now, i didn't have to mess around with anything more than taking off the prism, etc because it all works properly as it is but I think that this should be enough for you to clean your own camera.

It would be so much cheaper and simpler to just buy another one that worked properly. These are extremely robust cameras w/ one of the most reliable (and sweetest sounding) shutters in the business. Seldom does anything go wrong w/ them other than needing seals on the back door, which as a user DIY project, and jumpy meters that usually have corrosion on the contacts. $50 should get you a properly working one on eBay or KEH, or anyone w/ minimal repair skills can sort yours out (assuming that the meter is not dead, and I have never seen one that suffered that problem, but it's possible). Wonderful cameras, like all the Nikkormats.
