I have an old friend, a Nikkormat Ftn that has finally failed to advance. Its been a long time since I needed service on a Nikon and so would ask the members to recommend a good tech. I know these cameras have no economic value, but as I said this body goes back to my days in the service. Any help would be apprciated!
Thank you!
Thank you!
Miles.

Nikkormats are fairly basic mechanical cameras. Even FT2s can quite easily be CLA'd, which may be what yours needs. Not difficult, and (at least we hope) not too expensive, if the rest of the camera works okay. One of mine has meter problems - the classic 'mat flickering needle syndrome - and I use a Gossen meter to manually compute my exposures.
You could phone around locally/regionally to see if anyone in your part of the woods can do it. Yu'll save $$ on packing and shipping.
Also consider buying a spare FTN for parts. Many are available on Ebay at good prices. Cameras not working are worth very little...

Thanks guys. The rest of the camera still works fine and I haven't trusted the meter for years. I use a CV shoe mount light meter.

I had a problem with advancing film in one of my FEs a few years ago. Jim Holman at ICT Camera serviced it for me. I was very pleased with his work and timeliness.
