Nikon 8000 ED scan issues.

I am using Nikon Software. Using the 120 roll film adapter. I am suddenly unable to get a full scan of negative two, it gives me a bottom portion of number one and missees the bottom of number two. Then the third negative has a bottom portion of number two and misses the bottom of itself.
I have forgotten how to deal with this. Does anybody know what and where I have to adjust this issue please.
Cheers,
James.

I can't remember for sure, since I stopped using Nikon's buggy software 15 years, ago. I think there's a setting to adjust the frame positioning. Might be called frame offset or something like that.

The problem you're having is common with negatives that do not have clearly defined edges, like images that have a lot of dark or black areas (which is clear in the film) since the scanner looks at the image itself to determine framing.

I'm not familiar with a roll film adapter for this scanner. There is a film holder for 120 film, and I think a glass holder that works w/ 35mm and 120. Have you updated the driver? My experience w/ the Nikon software was that it worked quite well and did everything I needed it to do. Great scanner! Last resort, you might want to ck out the user manual. Might be something simple you're overlooking.

The link that Peter provided is actually about how Vuescan was not recognizing where the neg image was.

I have seen a fairly active Nikon Coolscan Users group on Facebook. There is at least one guy offering a lot of advice as well as hardware repairs. You may want to check there.
