Using the Nikon 9000 scanner with the Nikon software only allows up to 6x9 film scanning. Is there a way to scan 6x12 and/or 6x17 with this scanner. Other software?

You have to scan in 2 pieces and stitch. I think that Imacon will cover 6x12, but for 6x17 you will have to use flatbeds. Actually, 6x12 and 6x17, if you do not print too big (6 to 8 times enlargment) will give satisfactory results with Epson V700/750 if in B&W. In colour you might get a bit of an improvement if you use the V750 and wet scan.

6x12 does not go in one pass, but is fairly easy - scan it twice as 6x9, altering the offset between first and second scan (the Nikon software allows for that), and stitch the two scans in Photoshop or whatever.

Thanks folks for the quick sugestions. The flat bed idea is out -been there and done that - not good enough IMHO! The tread was helpful- do it twice and stitch- been there and done that- operator time is up! Short answer not quickly done in a single scan.
