Nikon 9000 - for 35mm?

Recommendations are requested for which holder to use with 35mm on a 9000. The stock one seems pretty bad - so I am hanging on to my CS V. I'd like to sell the small when I start getting good flatness from the 9000.

I assume that you are referring to 35mm negatives? You don't have a lot of choice here. The stock 35mm adapter is poor at best. You will probably want to get a FH-869G
holder. You will likely want this for scanning larger format films anyway.

The 869G are periodically very hard to find but work pretty well once you get your hands on one. You can order them at Adorama or B&H and they ship when they come in if you can't find one in stock anywhere.

I am doing fine with MF by adding glass to the stock holder. I guess I can just use that, but I am worried that the light leaking around the negatives may cause a problem.

Guess I'll try it...

what about cutting a matte to go with the MF holder and glass - to cut the spillage?

Some 6mil black styrene should do the trick. Or even some reflective mylar, or matte board.

Thanks. I may try that. But I may just keep my CS V it does a really good job with no flatness problems...
